Last Saturday Dinners Continues To Be a Favorite

The Last Saturday Dinner went well yesterday.  Brett Starr, Palmer Einstman, Austin Streaty, Thomas Neff, Warner Lamar, Boaz Kelner, Joe Moxley, and Jack Sullivan all helped Dr. Fuller, Sr. Paolicchi, Mr. Morrison, and Ms. Susan to prepare and serve a nice meal for 60 residents at Mercury Court.  Our group made carne asada, black bean and corn salad, tortilla soup, and chocolate flan for the residents.  Many thanks to the teacher supervisors, Ms. Susan, and Mr. Mazer, a member of the Urban Housing Solution staff, for helping create a wonderful experience for residents at Mercury Court and the students.  For more information about Urban Housing Solutions visit http://urbanhousingsolutions.org/,  (Submitted by Joe Moxley, '17, Project Co-Manager)

MBA + Second Harvest + Peanut Butter = A Long Standing Tradition

For the seventeenth straight year, the MBA community collected food for Second Harvest Food Bank in anticipation of Homecoming. In addition to several thousand pounds of food, ranging anywhere from peanut butter to canned fruits and vegetables, MBA collected thousands of dollars worth of virtual donations. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee works to feed hungry people and solve hunger issues in Middle and West Tennessee. Many thanks to the MBA Mothers Club, without whom none of this would have been possible.  (Submitted by Tom Peters, '17, Project Manager)

Best Buddies Tailgate = SO MUCH FUN!

MBA joined forces with Father Ryan to celebrate September birthdays with our Buddies.  Before the game Friday night, a great crowd gathered in the Big Red Room for games, music, hotdogs and cupcakes.  A wonderful time was had by all!

A special thanks goes to the planning committee: Thomas DeRoche, Phelps Gambill, Nick Dreher, Ms. Hollifield, Mr. Lawrence, Ms. Williams and Missy Naff of Best Buddies.  A big thank you also goes to Coach Redmond for helping with tickets and party favors.

Making a Difference at Fort Negley

This weekend, Cole Thornton and I went up to Fort Negley to help cut down invasive plants that were obstructing the walls of the Fort and the views from up top. We, along with four other Nashvillians, worked for about three to four hours clearing out trees, weeds, and shrubs. Our effort really did make a big difference in how the Fort looked. This was the first History Club led service project of the year, which was a little inconvenient considering it was a holiday weekend. We look forward to more change at the Fort later this year.  - David Cavallo '16
