Although 95 percent of Tennesseans support the concept of organ and tissue donation, only 38 percent of eligible donors are registered in Tennessee.
Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) will partner with Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA) and Harpeth Hall to launch a service program that will actively engage school communities –students, parents, faculty and alumni – in considering organ and tissue donation.
The program will be crafted so that schools can take ownership of it and make it integralto their cultures.
It will enable students to make an educated decision regarding registering as an organand tissue donor, especially around the time they are earning their driver’s licenses.
